I have ASUS Vivobook 15 R542UQ-DM153 with X542UQ.311 bios with intel i5 7200U with three disks 5TB storage with Nvidia GeForce 940mx 2GB GDDR5 VRAM.On 01st October 2022, I updated Intel Management Engine firmware Version 11.8.93.4323 on top of existing firmware v 11.8.92.4249 on windows 11 22H2 Enterprise 64bit build no 22621.608 Preview.I have taken the high risk for updating the latest firmware and drivers because intel identified the vulnerabilities in the management engineI am not recommending users to update without consulting the laptop or desktop or motherboa

Updated INTEL Management Engine Firmware v 11.8.92.4249 Dated 27-08-2022 in Asus Vivobook 15 R542UQ-DM153 With Intel i5 7200U Windows_11_21H2_22000.918

I have ASUS Vivobook 15 R542UQ-DM153 with X542UQ.311 bios with intel i5 7200u with three disks 5TB storage with Nvidia GeForce 940mx 2GB GDDR5 VRAM.

On 27th August 2022, I updated Intel Management Engine firmware Version 11.8.92.4249 on top of existing firmware v 11.8.92.4222 on windows 11 21H2 Enterprise 64bit build no 22000.918.

I have taken the high risk for updating the latest firmware and drivers because intel identified the vulnerabilities in the management engine

I am not recommending users to update without consulting the laptop or desktop or motherboard ASUS Support

Ask your system manufacturers for the released new ME firmware.

Different types of firmware are available and depend upon the intel processor generation and the respective SKUs only.



This Intel Management Engine Firmware flashed to the intel processors and will be lifelong. Future firmware updates only can be installed if existing firmware is not corrupted or not modified. Downgrading firmware is not available, so I won't recommend it.

Be careful before updating the new firmware, please note I and below site users and admin are not responsible for damaged caused due to updating.

Flashing Incorrect firmware will damage the processors. Even it won't boot or the laptop won't power on.

This firmware is not available on the ASUS support website for R542UQ. I took a risk and updated by own.

After updating this version 11.8.92.4249 new firmware, my laptop is running without problems, NO BSOD, no hung, and no driver incompatibility.

On 07th June 2020, I updated Intel Management Engine firmware Version
11.8.78.3681 on top of existing firmware v 11.8.77.3664
on windows 10 2004 Enterprise 64bit build no 19041.264

Moreover, I enabled spectra vulnerability fix by registry keys. Those registry keys are available in support.microsoft.com.
