    Updated now svc host everywhere and CPU overrunning itself


    I came home from work to boo tup my newly built gaming PC running on Windows 10. I start up and says I need to update and restart, I do so and boot up my NZXT cam to view my temps and parts pecs and my RAM and CPU on Idle are running themselves beyond what they are meant to max out at... Please help.

    svc host is usually using 50% or more of my cpu usage

    SVC host is using up lots of my CPU all the time and my computer is running slow.

    I have run performance toolkit -where do I upload it please

    Windows Shell Experience Host using 35 to 55% of CPU usage on Windows 10

    Hi Don,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

    I understand your concern about CPU utilization by Windows Shell Experience Host, we will help you with this issue.

    I suggest you to try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Try to end the process from Task Manager and check.


    • Press Ctrl+Alt+Del together to open
      Task Manager      .

    • Go to Processes tab, right-click on the Windows Shell Experience Host process and click
      End Process.

    Step 2: Boot the computer in to Safe mode with networking and if the CPU usage is same.

    Refer: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10


    Step 3: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

    • Connect to the internet.
    • Press Windows key and type
      updates      .
    • Click on Check for updates.
    • Under Windows Updates, click on
      Check for updates.
    • Try to install the updates being shown.
    Also, visit the computer manufacturer’s website and install the drivers being found and check if it helps.

    WMI Provider Host High CPU and 2 of them

    WMI Provider Host High CPU and 2 of them listed in task manager. I looked online and can't find simple steps as I don't know what some actions are when people speak
