So I updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 today and at first I loved it, it was working great. I loaded up a game where the mouse should never exit the game (think an FPS game where your mouse should always be in the center). Text was a bit small so I turned display scaling to 125%. After that, whenever I use a application that doesn’t let the mouse leave the window, I can notice my cursor when it reaches the edge of the window and the cursor turns to a resize arrow. This made it so whenever I move my mouse all the way to the corner of a window and left click, it doesn’t trigger a mouse click in the window but rather a small resize. Basically, I cannot use Windows 10 for any windowed applications that require the mouse to stuck in it without alt tabbing. This issue does not happen without display scaling, but I need display scaling to make icons and text bigger. I’ve looked online and I couldn’t find any solutions. I’m thinking of going back to windows 8.1. Any help is appreciated!

Mouse sensitivity issue with display scaled monitor after windows 10 1709 update

    Windows 10 1709 64

mouse: benq ec2-a (driver less mouse)

    monitor dell p2415q

    I'm using a 24' 4k(3840x2160) monitor, with display scale set to 200%.

after upgrade to windows 10 1709, my mouse sensitivity become twice faster as before. I simply check some settings, and I found that if I set display scale to 100%, my mouse speed was normal as before, but things were too little to see.

and I found that when under 200% scale, my cursor move at least 2 pixel per move, which I thought this might be a feature of windows 10 upgrade that if someone has 2 monitors with different display scale, can get a relative same mouse speed on both monitor
by applying a mouse sensitivity multiplier relative to display scale setting.
But I only have one monitor, the mouse speed is also doubled as my display scale setting. which I have to half my mouse dpi and I get pixel skipped when moving mouse.

is there a way to disable this feature? or any thing of make the mouse sensitivity is base on the highest scaled monitor not the constant 100% scale?

    Mouse cursor too big

    Hi all,

Mouse cursor in Windows 10 scales with the display size. If we go to display -> scale and layout, and we set 100, 125, 150% etc size we get the respected pointer size - the bigger the size the larger the mouse cursor. This is quite logical except when we want to to adjust the size of the mouse cursor independently of the display size and make it smaller - no such option.

I wondered if any of you knows some registry key for where we can specify the mouse pointer scale ratio, so that we could have 200% font and 125% mouse cursor size for example.

    Thank you for reading.

    Hi,

This issue with display scaling can be caused by an outdated display driver.
