    Updated Windows 11, now my PC is slow


    Hello everyone, I need your help.I updated my Windows 11 Home to version KB5041585, and now my PC is very slow. Mouse movement has no delay, but everything else like starting apps or the outline of an app icon on the home screen appearing takes very long. Looked it up and tried reinstalling the latest repair version via Settings → Windows update → update history → recovery → fix problems using Windows update which failed after a night of downloading and installing, telling me that “it could not be found”. Uninstalled the security update KB5041585 settings → Windows update → update history →

    File Transfer Speed from Windows 11 to Synology NAS is VERY SLOW vs. Windows 10

    I have a new Windows 11 PC and I'm noticing that the file sharing to my Synology NAS is very slow vs when I transferred files from my older Windows 10 PC.

    File Transfer Speeds:

    • Windows 11 to NAS (DS1520+) = 11.5 MB/s
    • Windows 11 to Windows 10 = 112 MB/s (much faster)
    • File size = 30GB

    Note:

    • Windows PCs and NAS are all Ethernet connected on 1GB home network.
    • Running: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
    • Running: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5

    Any suggestions on how to speed this up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,

    To assist you with your concern, we suggest you to run the System Maintenance Troubleshooter to check and see why your PC is running slow and unresponsive. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X.
    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting. If you cant find the option, click View By and select Large Icons.
    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    • Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.
