Windows 10: Updates causing computer freeze?

I have been noticing that my desktop has been freezing with the screen saver running. There are websites open as well as MS Outlook, yet I do not think those are the issue. The commonality that I have noticed is that there have either been Windows updates installed, Windows updates waiting, SUPERAntiSpyware waiting, or as in today's case, an Epson printer firmware update waiting.Has anyone else noticed a similar issue?
