Windows 10: updates history

I have 2 questions, highlighted by ***. let me walk you through how I got there:


my settings > updates & security > windows update shows I have windows 10, version 1903 (3) but that there are updates available. under that there's a message: status: getting things ready - 82% (percentage is increasing). I presume this will automatically change to install most recent update (or install automatically)? (FYI: I hate being left in the dark about how things'll be done). (UPDATE: ok, it's downloading now to windows 10, version 1909 but it's taking FOREVER: at 56% after 15 minutes) VERY frustrating!!!


so while i'm waiting I looked at settings > updates & security > windows update > view update history which is really confusing!!!

***Why would 2019-10 install again OVER 2019-11???


all other info looks "normal" although Definition Updates (2) shows 2 failed attempts to update Windows Defender Antivirus (i bought norton 360 (with lifelock) so that propably prevents the "standard" windows security from installing.

Update History Not Displaying Latest Update

If nothing shows in update history, try clicking on 'uninstall updates'. Sometimes this list is more complete. Having said that, I have nothing new in either list. Bree

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history?


Since the last Win 10 update my Google Toolbar won't list any search suggestions as I type and there is no search history listed. The Google tool bar will allow a search, but after a few searches no search history shows and no "clear search" button is listed either.

I have turnd on "Suggest searches as you type", and "store search histroy on my computer" in the Google Toolbar options.

Any suggestions to fix this?

 

Windows Update History Gone

Hi Andre,

you did not read my post. I do exactly as you suggested but under Update History I read "No updates have been installed yet". Many updates were installed on my W10 PC including some yesterday, yet I get this message. Update History used to list all the updates
installed by description and date!

When I click Uninstall Updates under Update History some recent updates are listed there!

Strange. Any clue?
