Windows 10: updates will not download

windows 10 updates will not down load and install also i have the same issue with updates from HP status states downloading on the HP page but progress does not move the windows update has been at 0% for 2 days

There may be an issue with the settings of Windows Update that is why you're experiencing difficulties downloading the updates. We suggest that you run the
Background Intelligent Transfer Service and the Windows Update troubleshooters to resolve the issue. To know how to run the two troubleshooters, follow these instructions:

• Access Control Panel.
• Click Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click View all.
• Choose Background Intelligent Transfer Service from the list.
• On the troubleshooter window, click Advanced.
• Make sure that the Apply repairs automatically check box is checked, and then click
  Run as administrator.
• Click Next.
• Wait for the troubleshooter to finish running.
• After running the troubleshooter, take note of the results and close the window.
• Choose Windows Update from the list.
• Repeat steps 5-9.
• Check if you can download the updates.

We'll be waiting for the results.

 

Updates will not download

As I had updates set to auto update, it has only been about three months ago that I first noticed the problem on my main desktop. I then checked my laptop and my wife's two computers and saw the same results. Then, this month, we came to our place a
1000 miles from our primary home and tried to run uptes on the desktop there with the same results. Viewing update history on all computers show that the last successful update occured in July of 2016. The laptop has not any software added in 2 years and
no major changes to any computer except my desktop ( doubled memory to 32 GB ).
Error code on all computers is 0x800705b4.

 

And to top that, Windows Update is missing from the Control Panel so unable to start a manual update. It is there in Settings but without a link to the update site.
