Windows 10: Updating apps installed on a drive other than C:\

Discus and support Updating apps installed on a drive other than C:\ in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; If I change the location for installing apps, to drive D:\Program Files\ for instance, how will updates to those apps be handled?     Updating apps installed on a drive other than C:\


    If I change the location for installing apps, to drive D:\Program Files\ for instance, how will updates to those apps be handled? I understand that some apps will follow the windows setup and install to the new drive, and some apps will allow me to manually redirect the installation, and some apps won't go anywhere other than drive C:\. For those that are installed other than in drive C:\, will windows remember where the original version was located and automatically install the update over that version, or will I have to remember where the original version was installed and manually direct th

    C windows installer folder - Delete?

    He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink Updating apps installed on a drive other than C:\ ;)
    Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
    First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
    Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

    Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.
