Windows 10: Updating from 1709 to 1903+

Trying to update my Laptop from 1709 to 1903. Apparently the update required does not work to no prevail.

I’m normal settings, it starts to install, gets to about 90% then fails and gives an error.

When I looked up the error it told me to try disabling antivirus, and to repair with DOMS (I think that’s what it was called).

I tried this, to get an error that was 0x80000ffff, which was an install error or some other updates that were pending.

I even tried resetting the Laptop as a whole and it cancelled at 10%.

I’m really lost Any help is appreciated

Cannot update to 1903

O_O thats a lot of steps. Starting in a few mins. Quick question though:
You list a set of instructions for "Windows 10 iso as an in place upgrade repair" with links, and then you included a box for "Routine troubleshooting steps" with 13 steps including links.

Which should I be following first?

PLEASE don't hate me for asking this as this just occurred to me. Should I try the update in Safe mode? I downloaded the MediaCreationTool 1903, but it wasn't successful in doing the update, nor was it successful in creating Usb install.

Windows 10 Pro 1709 update to 1803, 1809 or 1903?

I am using Windows 10 Pro 1709 (OS build 16299.1087).

The update settings are as follows:

• "Semi-Annual Channel"
  
• 365 days delay of feature updates
  
• 30 days delay of quality updates
  

Now Windows has downloaded update 1803 x64 2019-07B and wants to install it by restart. However, I have postponed this so far.

Since I use my PC professionally I want a stable running system.

I know that there quality and stability issues with 1803 and 1809. So my question is: Should I update to 1803, 1809 or 1903 to get the most stable system?
