Windows 10: Updating from 1803 to 2009--failures and intermittent successes

I am trying to go from 1903 to 2009 (can't get a method to 1909 and am afraid of 2004) for my Dell Inspiron 15 3565--2009 is the last version Dell is willing to test for. WU does not want to make 1909 available as an option hence my trying a work-around. Edit (add'l info): WU repeatedly returns "You're up to date" (1853 hrs, same day) Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am out of practice with "kludging" OSes.

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.

Windows 10 Quality Update failure since 1803

Megahertz - I am nervous/reluctant to update the BIOS (with all due respect) - not at all confident I'd be able to recover if I bungle it!

That being said, I plan to proceed with steps recommended by zbook and will post results.

ghot - thanks for your recommendations on an update - I have been down that trail based on YouTuber britec09 suggestions and unfortunately the end result (after a 15-hour update) was a machine that booted clean up through the Windows login - where it went to BSOD (black) and left me with no other obvious choice but to back out the updates and continue with 1803.

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
