Windows 10: Updating from 8.1 to 10, error 0x80070004-0x4000D

    Updating from 8.1 to 10, error 0x80070004-0x4000D


    halfway through the installation, it reverted back to 8.1, and I got this message.

    the troubleshooting tips leads to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...ion-of-windows, which is useless, and this has happened three times. What do I do?

    I already tried disabling my antivirus and all startup programs but that didn't help.
    Windows 8.1 Enterprise, Lenovo Thinkpad

    Windows 10 Update fails with the error 80070004 4000D

    When upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 I get an error "The installation fails in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation. The error code is 0x80070004 - 0x4000D.

    I have been unable to find a way of getting around the problem.

    Help would most appreciated.

    Does anyone have any info on this? I'm kind of confused as to why it says no one has even viewed this topic

    I unplugged all USBs (including my wireless mouse). Not sure if this solved it, or if I just got lucky though... good luck!
