Windows 10: Updating from Windows 11 Insider Preview 26040.1000

I am attempting to update from Windows 11 Insider Preview 26040.1000 to Windows 11 Insider Preview 26058.1000. This has failed several times since the 26040 build was superceded in May 2024. During the reboot phases of installation the first reboot happens without error but the second reboot hangs with the circle and then progresses to the GSOD once the timeout is reached. A rollback is then triggered.I have attempted to investigate the logs to no avail but I can provide any that may be of benefit. My next attempt will be to reformat and install Windows from scratch but would obviously like to

This may have same issue which is listed build 22504 release announcement as "know issue".

• Some devices may bugcheck with error code 0xc1900101-0x4001c when installing this build. If you hit this, after the device rolls back to the previous build, you may want to pause updates until we release a fix.

Hibernation stopped working on 26040

Using Windows 11 Canary 26040, Windows wouldn't boot after hibernating (after this update, was working fine on 26016).

When I turn my PC back on after hibernating, it shows the Windows logo that appears on boot but there's no progress circle down there. And I can't get to lock screen, it's like it's stuck in that boot state with the big Windows logo.

I tried a few steps here How to Fix Hibernate Mode Not Working in Windows 11 - GeekChamp but it didn't work.

FYI, I'm using an old desktop that normally has no hibernation option. I simply force enabled it with "powercfg -h on" and it worked pretty well before (until 26040).
