Windows 10: Updating to version 1511 after Clean Installation using MCT?

For those people who CLEAN installed Win 10 using the Media Creation Tool, will it automatically update to Threshold-2 (version 1511 Build 10586.36) through Windows Update once installation had been completed?
Or does that have to downloaded separately?

And what is the "KB" Number for version 1511 Threshold-2?

windows 10 anniversary edition not compatible with acer aspire e1 - 572P

After 2 weeks of clean installs of windows 10 1607 and subsequent failures with Microsoft support ?help, I have now installed previous version 1511. How can I install updates for version 1511 without receiving 1607 upgrade. At present automatic updates
disabled.

(previous attempt with this 1511, after install auto updates downloaded 1607 and attempted to restart, on restart it blue screened as it has been doing for the past two weeks).

How can I just get windows 1511 updates and ignore the 1607 which my manufacture says my machine will not run

 

Cannot complete "Feature Update for version 1607" after doing a clean install of Window 10 build 1511

The issue i need assistance on is to determine why "Feature Update for version 1607" will not install on a clean Windows 10 1511 install. I did a clean install of Windows 10 after talking to Microsoft support in the Philippians and India.

I am still unable to:

(1) Do a clean install of Windows Anniversary 1607 install from DVD.

• 1607 DVD was verified by running a complete install in Oracle VM Virtualbox on the same Lenovo P500.
• All partitions were deleted on the Lenovo P500 to make sure no data was on the laptop.
• All file copy operations for Windows 10 1607 completed. System appears to get stuck during prepare to install.
• Using Windows 10 1511 in a clean install (no partitions) completes 1511 installed successfully.
  
  (2) Complete the update "Feature Update for version 1607" after doing a clean install of Windows 10 1511
• "Feature Update for version 1607" completes downloading and requests reboot to apply. Get to blue screen where update tries to apply but is stuck at 0 percent for several hours. System needs to be rebooted to roll back the change.
• I have uninstalled Avast Antivirus on previous attempts.
• The last failed attempt was 2/14/2016 after 10am EST

Windows update will do that for you.

It is not absolutely clear to me if OP is trying to update from a clean install of 10586 in which case it will automatically update to 10586.36.

Or if OP is trying to update from 10240 in which case windows update will work, but easier (and generally more reliable) to download the latest iso and run setup.exe.

 

I had installed this last week on Jan 4.

So I assume it was build 10586.0 at that time in which I did double checked when I downloaded the tool itself again and I right clicked on Properties of that Tool and on the Details tab, it was 10586.0. Please see image.

So just to confirm this please, will this automatically update to Threshold-2 (version 1511 Build 10586.36) through Windows Update once the installation completes and after I am online?

 

Just execute "winver" from a command prompt to see your currently installed build/version. If you have the 10586 build (aka version 1511) installed already, then, yes, you will receive minor version increments through Windows Update to land at 10586.36.

 

As I said on my first reply, you will get to 10586.36 through Windows Update, after you have done Clean Install.
