Windows 10: Updating to Windows 10 2009, Restart cuts signal to monitor.

Hi MS,


I'm running Windows 10 1909 on the following system:

ASUS Prime X470-Pro
AMD R7 3700X
AMD Radeon Vega 64 GPU

32GB memory


An SSD as boot drive and various other drives to support my data needs.


I've run into a major Windows Update issue. Whenever I try to update from Windows 10 1909 to either 2004 or 2009, my monitor will lose all signal upon post-update restart.


The screen will claim that no signal is being pushed through the DisplayPort, and my mouse and keyboard are unresponsive. The only choice is to hard reset and wait until Windows gets that something is wrong, uninstalling my update.


This is a workaround at best, as I am effectively barred from updating my OS.


I've tried uninstalling all graphics devices and drivers before the update.

I've tried letting it sit and wait for many hours over night in the hopes that it was an update config process.

I've even tried reinstalling the entire OS, only to get the exact same issue.


What gives?

Windows 10 Update Installed & Now No Signal to Monitor

Hi,

For us to isolate your concern with your monitor's signal, we would like to know the following:

• When you say "signal", are you referring to the Internet?
• Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Monitor not working - HDMI has no signal

Yesterday, my ASUS monitor was working fine connected to my HP spectrum using Windows 10. Today, the monitor delivers a no HDMI signal message. I have restarted both laptop and monitor, replaced the HDMI cable, updated display driver and still no luck.
Suggestions welcome.

 

Windows 10 Creators Update - no signal on second monitor

Just downloaded Windows fall creator update and my 2nd monitor won't work. The 2nd monitor says 'no hdmi signal from your device'. Tried unplugging and plugging in again. Drivers seem to look up to date. Any suggestions?
