Windows 10: updating to windows error 10 OXC1900101 -OX30018

I have used windows 10 upgrade assistant to try to up grade from windows 7 professional.

Everything looks fine then I get a message

Installation failed in the first boot phase with error during SYSPREP operation

Code OXC1900101 - OX30018

I have tried the support in windows and followed each point to the letter but my computer reverts back to " previous version of windows"

now I am stuck at point 7 - repair hard drive

I followed instructions get in the command Prompt but a message then says administrator permissions - sufficient privilages - Invoke utility in elevated mode

* Note under help instructions says need administrator permissions - but no link how to get them.


I think I am on the right track - I need the administrator permissions to continue .

I am the owner and only user of the computer - but dont know where to start with this.

I have checked on line but it is compicated and I am getting confused with setting up administrator and running/ moving files which I dont want to do.

Help please in simple terms - I think I am on the right track but may be totally wrong.


Not sure if this is relevant -

I have checked for updates and the following shows

The last successful Update windows 7 ( KB2574819) on 3.4.19

Update windows 7 failed (KB 2592687) on 3.4.19

Nothing about windows 10

Windows 10 Stuck on “Restoring your previous version of Windows” loop

Now after getting to step 6 of the troubleshooting process I am getting an error message:

We could not install Windows 10

OXC1900101-OX30018

The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP operation.

 

Win 10 Upgrade Freezes

When I try to upgrade, system freezes (repeatedly) at 32% overall and 6% step 2 with error message: error OxC1900101-Ox30018, error at: First.boot at sysprep.

Any ideas on what to do?
