    Changing from Win 7 SR1 32-bit to Win 10 54-bit

    When I got Win 7 directly from Microsoft, I got both 32 and 64 bit versions. Don't remember the logic, but I installed the 32 bit version. I now have Win 7, SP 1, 32-bit OS installed. Now I want to go to Win 10 and have several questions:

    1. Can I go from what I have directly to what I want? (From 32-bit Win 7 to 64-bit Win 10)

    2. Will going to 64 bit destroy my installed s/w and require a new install of everything?

    3. Would it be easier to install Win 10 32 bit then switch to a 64 bit installation?

    4. When I went from XP Pro to 7, I had to do a complete install of all s/w after putting the Win 7 OS on my computer, Will going from where I am to a 64 bit version of Win 10 require the same "rebuild from the ground up"?

    Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

    As Superfly says. But just to answer part of the question, first, the change from 32-bit to 64-bit usually requires a fully clean install. Second, you'll need to obtain all the proper drivers for your devices. Third, the Enterprise editions of Windows are usually for companies that purchase lots of computers and software. Where you got your copy may require going to that person/firm to work with the activation. Fourth, you really won't be that much ahead in the change as the 32-bit versions work just fine, only real issue is a problem with displaying more than about 3.5GB RAM but the minimum required is 1GB and the 64-bit version is 2GB. My experience is I have better 'luck' with at least twice the recommended.
