Windows 10: Updating Windows 10 finally after so long?

I have been getting windows update errors since 2016 and I have finally decided to take the time to try to get this resolved since I am spending more time on my computer and want to get the latest version of windows 10. I have tried installing the update but the computer says that I need to upgrade the BIOS first.The exact message is:"HP Pavillion Notebook - BIOS needs to be upgraded before you can upgrade to windows 10"I have tried updating the BIOS but when I try to do this through device manager it says that I have the most current BIOS. I tried the HP utility software and again

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
