Windows 10: Updating Windows cancels itself

My Windows 10 HP laptop updates and runs in the background however when it reach 99 percent it will restart automatically and updates nothing. I waste my time and effort for this updates that didnt install and now it is downloading again and this is the third time I run this and I know it will not work so I want to make it resolve please.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1:

• 
  Press Crtl + alt + Delete key on your keyboard to open task manager.
  
• 
  Cancel the Windows Update task form the task manager.
  

Step 2:

  Run Windows Update Troubleshooter. Click this

Windows Installer popup on Windows 10 will not cancel

For us to isolate the issue with the Windows Installer pop-up that can't be cancelled, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• When you say "It will not cancel", can you tell us what happens when you try canceling it?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In he meantime, we suggest that you perform a clean boot. It will help us determine if there are any third-party
programs/apps that is causing the issue. It could be some other applications or programs.
