Windows 10: updating windows makes my laptop not recognize my mic jack

please help me,

I'm stuck with old windows update coz every time I update to the newest version it won't recognize my mic jack panel anymore and I can't use my weird mic

can't use some apps features right now coz my windows is out of date and couldn't figure out how to fix this

Im using: acer predator helios 300 (2017)

ps: the speakers does recognize it, Im using a headset with a mic the headphones works but the mic doesn't, but it says "front panel" instead of "left panel"

Mic not detected with combo headphone mic jack on laptop.

There are LOTS of these threads that are locked with no answer. It's very frustrating that there ins't a way to toggle windows to use the combo speaker or headset mic combo jack as a mic only when it's not detected automatically and only a mic is plugged
in!

Windows developers need to recognize that laptop manufactures are now and have been for YEARS only putting in a single audio jack and give us the ability to choose how windows uses the jack.

3 options need to be easily accessible from the system tray sound icon.

1. Combo Speakers/Mic. (default)

2. Mic only.

I'm only trying to hook up an external mic to the audio jack. I'll probably end up buying a USB mic adapter.

 

Headphone mic not working with laptop 3.5mm port

I have sennheiser hd4.40 wireless headphone. I also got a cable with headphone having 2.5mm pin(attached to headphone) to 3.5mm pin(attached to mobile phone).

Problem is that when i connect 3.5mm pin to my mobile phone headphone jack, in call i am able to use mic and headphone both at same time but:

1. When i connect the 3.5mm pin to 3.5mm jack for mic on my laptop, i am not able to use the mic.(my laptop has separate 3.5mm mic and 3.5mm headphone jack)
   
2. When i connect to 3.5mm jack for headphone, only headphone is working with laptop not mic.
   

Please do not suggest why I am not using Bluetooth because it is a separate problem.

I am missing something or maybe this may be limitation or something else. Help me on this. :-(

 

Mic not being detected

I recently bought a laptop with line in line out and mic and audio jack (All 3.55 MM) I made sure that the the two split jacks is in the proper jacks. The mics aren't being recognized I've already turned on ''show disabled devices'' and so on. Plus also
updated the drivers and re downloaded them twice. Please give me a suggestion on what I should do.
