    Updating Windows through esd file.


    I have Windows 10 of version 1903 and I want to upgrade it to windows 10 2004. I want to save my all the files and have install.esd file from windows 10 installation iso. I want to update it using this esd file but I haven't any way to do it. I tried it by Using Following dism:-


    dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:e:\windows10instalationesd\install.esd


    This command will successfully continue but after 100%, an error occured.


    So, How can I update my windows using esd file.

    Hi,

    To assist you better, we would like to know more information about your concern.

    • Have you tried any changes prior to this issue?
    • Have you tried to check the files in your Recycle bin?
    • May we know what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • May we know what ESD file are you trying to create? Is it for Windows 10 update?

    Windows 10 Update Assistant downloading ESD file to external drive?

    Yeah, it went through like it should have. After the upgrade finishes, the ESD file and all other files relating to an upgrade were no longer on the second partition.
