Windows 10: Updating Windows Vista to Windows 10

I am updating a personal laptop that currently has Windows Vista on it. I verified that the System Requirements are all good, I've bought Windows 10, I've redeemed it, and it goes through the Installation and that is where I encounter a problem. When I click on it to open, there is a pop up that Power2Go is not supported by a resolution, it asks if I wish to proceed, I say yes, but it asks me to insert a CD to burn. Is this necessary--do I even need Power2Go, and if not, how do I get around this so I can simply get Windows 10 on my laptop?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Vista Pre-SP1 vs. Vista SP1

I've been Windows Updating for two straight days and I finally saw SP1. If you want to troubleshoot it, follow these steps:

• Show hidden updates
• Manually install any failed updates (google the KB_____ and install from the windows site)
• Make sure everything in Device Manager is good to go

I had to do step two for like 4 or 5 updates to be able to see SP1.

Any other benchmarks you guys want to see? I might try PCMark05 (I think it works on Vista).
