Windows 10: Upgrade 11 Home to Pro using win 7 pro key

This may seem a bit strange also a bit difficult to explain but I wonder if it can be done.Many years ago I purchased windows 7 Professional DVD to install on computer I assembled from parts.I subsequently destroyed that computer.I thought I had lost the DVD for Windows 7 including the license key.Recently this year I bought parts to build a new PC and also purchased Windows 11 Home through the Microsoft Store.It is important to note that both versions of windows were purchased separately and were not included with a computer.Today, I found the old DVD With Windows 7 Pro. I would like to use

Clean install of win 11 pro

I have a laptop running with a digital licence for Win10 Pro. The laptop originally came with Win 10 home but I upgraded to win 10 pro using a key from a win 7 ultimate dvd.

Windows update tells me I can update to win 11 pro from my present install and acquire a digital licence from MS.

My potential issue after doing so would be, if I wanted to do a clean Win 11 Pro install after getting the digital licence (for win11 pro) I suspect the install would read the bios key and install Win 11 home and not Pro. Apparently Win 7 keys are no longer valid for the Win 10 and 11 upgrades.

My question then becomes what steps do I follow to do a clean Win11 Pro install on this laptop bearing in mind the system came with Win10 Home.

Upgrading from Win 11 home to Win 11 Pro - using Win 10 pro key

I have a new laptop - running Win 11 Home

My old laptop was upgraded to Win 10 pro from win 10 home

Can I transfer this upgrade to the new laptop and then upgrade this to Win 11 Pro ?

Without it affecting any programs that I have installed ?

What would happen if I just change the product key on my Laptop to the old Win 10 pro one ?

 

UPGRADE WIN 10 TO PRO VERSION USING WIN 7 PRO PRODUCT KEY

Hi – I am a retiree geek who wants to play with Windows 10 Pro on one of my PCS but has no interest in paying $100 for the privilege of upgrading. I do have a sealed dvd package of Win 7 Pro so it seems like like MS “owes” me the upgrade, but frankly I do
not want to install win 7 pro and then upgrade it to Win 10 pro. Is there some way I can use the win 7 pro key to allow upgrade in a more direct manner?
