Windows 10: Upgrade From 8.1

As I understand it we can still Upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. My question is, how?

I have an old Windows 8.1 machine that I don't know the origin of, and if Windows 10 was ever installed or not. It's a recovered from death machine that still works but did not have a HDD in it when I got it. The Tower has been put through its paces and all it working well.

1. Do I need to Mount the Windows 10 iso on Windows 8.1 and Click the Setup File, or can I just do a Clean Install of Windows 10 from a DVD or USB?
The reason I ask is, I was trying to sysprep this machine with Windows 8.1, but that did not go well and was just to much work. So Windows 8 works, but from what I understand it is a little broken...for lack of a better term. Apparently running sysprep on Windows 8.1 breaks it, and I did not know the proper path to do so at the time. So forget sysprep, I just want to get Windows 10 on there.

Windows 8 to Windows 10 upgrade

This issue may occur due to out dated driver. Try the below steps and check.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to update Printer driver and check if it helps to resolve the issue. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + R and type
  devmgmt.msc in the box and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Go to Printer queues and locate for the printer.
  
• 
  Right click on the printer and click on update to update the driver.
  

If the issue still persist try the below steps:

Method 2.

I suggest you to uninstall the printer driver and then reinstall the latest driver from the printer manufacturer website. Before you un-install the driver download the latest update driver. Follow the steps:

Step 1. To uninstall.

• 
  Press Windows key + R.
  
• 
  Type devmgmt.msc in the box and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  Go to Printer queues and uninstall the driver.
  

Step 2. To re-install.

• 
  Download the latest printer driver from the manufacturer’s website.
  
• 
  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
