Windows 10: Upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 prior to support being discontinued

I was FORCED to have to upgrade to Windows 10 after finding out that support will stop as of January 2020 for Windows 7. After reviewing the entire Windows 10 features I find I was extremely disappointed with access and the extreme lack of user friendly tools.

1 big issue I have is that as soon as I upgraded, the new version of Windows 10 allowed "Remote Access" Very poor thinking on the part of the MS staff.

Until I turned off "Remote Access" on my parents computer they had been hacked 2 times and password was installed so that they could not access their computer. Then the calls from fake tech support started to come in to charge them for fixing the issue.


I would just like to state to MS staff, that the Win 10 is a very sorry product, and if it was not for the fact I was forced to use it. I would have never upgraded. This has made me seriously consider moving to another OS platform.

OK to install Win 10 drivers in Win 7 system prior to upgrade?


So far my attempts to upgrade a Win 7 Pro 64 system have not been successful. My system is built around an ASUS P9X79PRO motherboard and ASUS has separate driver sections for Win 7 and Win 10. Is it Ok to install the Win 10 driver versions prior to doing another upgrade attempt? Is it necessary? Is it necessary to NOT to that?

Win 7 and Win 10 on network

I have home network with separate modem, router, and WAP's. My Windows 7 computer does NOT list the Windows 10 computers on network computer list but the Windows 10 computers network list DO list the Windows 7 computer.

Turned off firewalls, gave permissions, shared drives. Nothing allows Win 7 computer to access the Win 10 computers.

Any suggestions for a fix?

I would not recommend installing W10 drivers on a W7 system. I would have them saved somewhere and ready to access after the upgrade.
