Why are people upgrading, or allowing their computers to upgrade, when they do not have a backup of their machine? What's wrong with you people? The problem is that MOST people are simply "users" who only know what the mouse does. You can use ACRONIS to make a perfect backup of your machine so that when you "brick it" as some people love to say you can set it right back to where it was. I have been upgrading machines for more than 30 years now and have never "ruined" a machine. I have also NEVER had a machine upgrade to a new operating system without my consent. Stop blaming Microsoft becaus

    :)

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect

In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.

Problems with the "Restore" function in Windows 10 on my machine.

Since you've forgotten the password, we suggest that you enable the hidden admin account. To do this, kindly follow these steps:

    • Press Windows + R and type "cmd".
    • Enter this command: net user administrator /active:yes.
    • Log out and see if there's an option to log in as an Administrator.
    • You can now try to restore your computer to its previous state in the
      Administrator
      profile.

If you have further concerns, feel free to post.
