  1. Upgrade secondary D: drive to windows 11 from 10 without erasing

Hello, so I want to upgrade to win 11 but with a fresh install on my C: drive because it's not that big and I have a lot of garbage on it, and I want to erase it anyway so I might as well upgrade to win 11. My problem however with this is that I have another drive with all the more extensive programs installed and my projects. The projects are not the problem because I could just move them to an external drive but I work with Adobe programs where I need my plugins and some settings. So is there a way where I can just migrate the programs to win 11?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

  3. Erased windows 10 D: drive

Hi. I was following free up disk space in order to download windows 10 v 1903. Well somehow in the command prompt i managed to erase everything in my drive! Now i dont think windows installed properly and my computer froze and then went to a blank screen.
i tryed to download windows from earlier restore date but i dont have anything backed-up until todays date. i dont know if i backed up my files in the D: drive i erased or why nothing is backed up from that drive. I have files from onedrive, icloud, google
photos ect. Still. So can i recover my software from D: drive or what are the best steps to save current files and completely install newest windows 10? Is this something i can do myself?

    Windows 10 upgrade rant..

The free space shouldn't prevent you from upgrading to built 1607. I manually upgraded my own laptop which had only 9gigs free space left on the system drive.

I unzipped the Windows 10 Pro anniversary edition ISO on my D drive, and started the upgrade process from there. At one point the installer complained about not having enough free space on the main drive, i just had to point it to the D drive to proceed to the next step. Now the rollback installation is stored there and doesn't clog up the C drive anymore.

In your case you could insert a large sdcard to act as the required rollback drive, i'm pretty sure it would do the trick.

Oh and by the way, if you want to further compress your System files:
    • do a search Command Prompt, right-click it, and select Run as administrator.
    • Type COMPACT.EXE /CompactOS:always and hit Enter.
You'll will gain anything from 2 to 4 gigs free space after it's done.
