Windows 10: upgrade suggestions for a GA F2A88XM D3H+

Hello I have an AMD A10 6800K 4.1GH quad CPU and a EVGA 02G-P4-3658-KR GeForce GTX 650Ti Boost Superclocked Nvidia Graphics Card (2GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0, 192-Bit) Graphic card.......Have 8GB RAM, already fitted an SSD to speed up startup and certain file handling.

would appreciate some ideas about my upgrade path...mainly for gaming..The CPU seems the obvious least expensive route...but not sure if I can overclock the graphic card or if it's worth it, it is described as superclocked !!!

Windows 10 driver_irql_not_less_or_equal usbxhci.sys when playing a video

So for the past couple days I have been getting a BSOD with driver_irql_not_less_or_equal usbxhci.sys.

This happens randomly when I play a video. Here is some more information about my computer:

Motherboard: gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H

Gpu: Msi geforce gtx 750 ti

cpu: amd athlon x4 860K

And your budget might be...?

The obvious upgrade would be the graphics card. I believe that your 650ti doesn't use a PCI-E power connection. Can your PSU provide any? I think that a better card would probably require one. There are some GTX 950 variants that don't require additional power (eVGA lists them as "LP", presumably low power), but it's not clear that they are enough better than a 650ti boost to justify a swap.

was looking at a A10 7870 coming in around £100 which seems good...or someone suggested an Athlon x4 880k which is cheaper....the 7870 is meant to have a noisy fan !!!

i mentioned overclocking the graphic card....any comments on this

 

I have recently acquired a Radeon RX480 card. It only uses one 8-pin PCI-E VGA power connector unlike my previous GTX 970 which required two: 8+6 pin. Performance is roughly equivalent to GTX 970 and sometimes is even better (DX12, Vulkan).

RX480 is a better card than GTX 650Ti (at least I think so) and it's a good best-bang-for-the-buck card.

You can probably overclock the card above the factory setting, although it may become less reliable. I doubt that there's a lot to be gained, though.

I also doubt that a CPU upgrade would help gaming much. I'm not a gamer, but supposedly games tend to be more GPU dependent than CPU dependent.
