Upgrade time with 236GB of data

Got a modern 8.1 laptop here and said I would upgrade it. Then found it had 236GB on its C: drive!

Just wondering about what lots of data does to upgrade time. I'm suspecting quite a lot.

Like the time it is taking to image! It's only going 188Gbps to a USB 2.0 drive so is taking hours.

    Regretting this one, now!!

    :)

  2. windows 10 has taken 236gb of my hard drive

Just wondering if anyone know why after a clean install of windows 10 my hard drive now only has 32gb free space of 286 gb. I installed windows 10 as normal on the 29th with no problems with space but today I went with the reset this pc setting and after
the wipe and reinstallation of windows 10 I now only have 32gb free. I've gone to Settings > System > Storage and it says "other" 236gb, but when you go into it, it only shows 50.3MB worth of memory. 236gb has just disappeared.

Anyone else have this problem or know how I can sort it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  3. windows 10 has taken 236gb of my hard drive

    Wade,

Thanks for the response. I think I have found the problem. There is a file called Temp_SafeToDeleteRefreshFile_Attempt0__File0 which is the size of my missing memory. I have located it on my c:/ drive, but when I try to delete it I get the error message

Ive tried to stop the Dllhost process so I can delete it but it just doesn't stop, I haven't a clue what to do from now on
