Windows 10: Upgrade to 64-bit Windows 10

Discus and support Upgrade to 64-bit Windows 10 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I have successfully upgraded to 32-bit Windows 10.     Windows 7 64-bit upgrade to Windows 10 64-bit

    I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I would like to upgrade to Windows 10, but keep a 64-bit OS. Will the Windows 10 upgrade app provide me with a 64-bit OS or stick me with a 32-bit OS?

    Windows 7 64-bit upgrade to Windows 10 64-bit

    The upgrade will do like for like:

    Win 7 Home to Win 10 Home

    Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro

    Win 7 64 bit to Win 10 64 Bit...

    From my understanding, you can't upgrade from a 32bit OS to a 64Bit OS.. you'll have to install the 64Bit one from scratch. Someone else might have a better idea..

    I have the 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc. How can I upgrade to 64-bit Windows 10 from my current 32-bit Windows 10? Thanks!

    If your 32bit Windows 10 is already activated then Download Windows 10 64bit and do a fresh install.

    *Ditto this is the safest and best way. Trying to force it in any other way will simply cause you pain. Topgun is right, just bite the bullet and clean install. You'll be better off in the end.

    As long as that computer has been upgraded to Windows 10 before and it is activated, then you can clean install it again by just clicking "Skip" or "Do this later" when it asks for a product key. Unless a person has purchased a unique product key for Windows 10 they should never type in a product key.

    Thanks a million to your good news! I will upgrade from 32-bit Windows 7 to 32-bit Windows 10 first and then follow the advice from Joergi to do a clean installation of 64-bit Windows 10.

    Just another thorght that should I upgrade to 62-bit Windows 7 before upgrade to 64-bit Window 10?

    Upgrades suck.. but if I were him I would do the upgrade to the 32bit 10 and get the 64 bit 10.. then perform a clean instillation.
