Windows 10: Upgrade to Win 10 from dual boot win 7 / win xp

I upgraded from win xp to a dual boot win xp / win 7 by using a win 7 upgrade disk. win 7 is now stable so I don't need win xp any longer and don't need a dual boot system.


win 7 is on sata drive c with data also on that sata drive as drive d. win xp is on an old ide drive e. There is also a separate ide data disk f.


Will I be able to upgrade the upgraded win 7 to win 10 using a win 10 upgrade - and should I disconnect the win xp ide drive e while I am doing it?

Dual boot windows xp sp3/ win 7 sp1 to xp/win 10 dual boot

I have a desktop with dual boot windows xp sp3/ win 7 sp1. I have some older software (only used a few times a year) that will not run on win7 so I have the xp partition. Will the new windows 10 upgrade allow the install to have xp/win 10 dual boot.

 

Dual boot with win 10 upgrade using win 10 pro license?

I understand the the win 10 upgrade is an overwrite of the existing OS (which is win 7 sp2 for me). Can I buy the win 10 pro license as an upgrade to the win 10 upgrade? then download the upgrade and create a dual boot with the existing win 7? What is the
procedure for dual boot?

Is Win 10 upgrade from Win 7 being blocked by files contained in a dual-boot Win XP partition?

I have an older HP-Compaq 6510b laptop with a dual-boot Win XP/Win 7 (64 bit) setup.

Running Win 7, the "Get Win 10" review indicates the computer is a valid upgrade candidate, but that I need to uninstall "Embedded Security for HP ProtectTools". I have done that. During the Win 10 upgrade (using Windows 7 Update), a message is posted that
"Active Check for HP Active Support Library" cannot be removed programmatically, I should remove it manually, and then continue with the upgrade. However, I cannot find Active Check in my Win 7 partition. (I have asked Hewlett Packard for help to see if Active
Check is a part of any HP software/updates for Win 7 installations. I do, however, find Active Check when searching the Win XP partition (same physical drive).

Is the Win 10 installer effected by all files and software installations on the physical drive as outside the partition I am trying to upgrade? If so, is there a way to change this?

Will an upgrade from an ISO disc work differently?

What is my best path for upgrading? (I'd rather not have to constantly reboot to XP [which I use for an old HP scanner program] to delete programs, restart my Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade, if there will be many iterations.)
