  1. Upgrade to win 11 stuck for way too long…

So I finally did the update from windows 10 to 11, it downloaded fine I was prompted to restart the laptop to finish installing, when it restarted I had the progress bar gradually go up to 100 in a relatively quick time. Now the problem arises, it has been steady on the all black screen with the white spinning circle of dots for close to an hour and a half there’s no way this can be normal… power button does nothing nor does any other buttons, not really sure what will happen if I try to boot in safe mode or something. I’m hoping this is just an unbearably long process and any second it’s goin

    Stuck in Windows 10 Upgrade

My computer seems to be stuck in a Windows 10 failed upgrade loop. I was running fine on a beta version of Windows 10, and then I came downstairs one morning to see it repeatedly booting, attempting to repair, then rebooting. The steps I've taken to diagnose are:

    • Attempting to boot off a USB drive (with all drives disabled in BIOS) - this fails at the point of the blue windows screen
    • Attempting to boot the machine itself and getting into "repair/safe mode" using F7
    • Looking at the BIOS for obvious failures (e.g. RAM that should be there is missing) - nothing obvious is wrong.

I am fairly certain the build version was 9926. For many months, the system would attempt to upgrade, and then say "it failed" for some reason and roll back.

    Suggestions for next steps?

    Upgrade to Win 11

Trying to upgrade laptop to Win 11. My processor is listed on Microsoft compatibility list as one that will work with Win 11, but the health check says it won't and therefore will not allow upgrade. All other items on list are ticked green. Any advice please?

    Thanks.
