Windows 10: Upgrade to Win11 failed, says can't install from USB

So Windows 10 has become so troublesome on my wife's laptop constant "100% disk usage" turning it into an unresponsive brick; spend more time trying to knock that down than using it that I decided to just bite the bullet and upgrade to Windows 11, and HOPE that it's better than 10 has been. Went through a full backup first, 'cause if I didn't, then guaranteed all her data would be trashed in the upgrade.Typical Microsoft... Win10 to win11 upgrade fails

When trying to upgrade to win11 i get a driver update error Intel Corporation - Extension - 22.80.1.1 0x80246019. I am running the lastest intel drivers (22.130.0.2). This error only shows during the upgrade. Everything works fine. No problems with bluetooth. I can upgrade to a clean win10 version with no problem, but win11 just will not work.

SFC and DISM are ok, Memory is good, all external devices disconnected, Virus check removed........etc...etc

Win11 installation fails with different errors depending on install. Tried thru win update, with installation assistant and USB drive.

 

Win11 upgrade not coming

If you checked again my previous replies, you can see ASUS re-installed my new notebook a even newer Win10 Home installation. After this 2nd time installation, I only did these to the toy:

1. installed chrome
   
2. changed its display brightness
   
3. changed wallpaper
   

After your previous suggestion, the 1 month temp McAfee was gone.

I can't figure out why I can't upgrade to Win11 for such a new notebook. Newer notebook will come with Win11 natively

 

Win 10 USB install Fails, Linux has no problem

I did this step this morning just in case it wanted to act differently. Same issue though. error 0xc000007b and 0xc0000021a
