    BSOD while upgrading to Windows 10, error C1900101-20017


    Hi, I've tried 11 times to upgrade to Windows 10, but every time, no matter what I try, I am confronted with a blue-screen after the first restart in the upgrade process. Upon rebooting, I get a box pop up which tells me I have got error C1900101-20017 and "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with error during BOOT operation". When I click ok, Windows 7 loads once again.

    I have tried:
    • Updating all of my drivers
    • Uninstalling my antivirus (re-installed it now since it didn't work)
    • Unplugging unnecessary peripherals
    • Clean boot (nothing running on startup)
    None of these have changed a thing.

    Someone on Reddit is saying they managed to get it fixed by switching to UEFI boot mode, but I can't find that option in my BIOS.

    Hi guys,

    I've been trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 for about a week or so. I've been getting the error C1900101-20017.

    I have also tried using the Media Creation tool to upgrade - Still isn’t working.

    Any solutions?
