    Upgrade vs Clean Install

Alpha was talking about when Windows 10 RTMs; that's when we'll have to enter our product/license keys. During the beta, we don't have to do that.

You can download build 10122 ISO and then upgrade to the build that was dropped yesterday, 10130.

Jeff, Microsoft didn't release an ISO of Build 10122; didn't even release the slow ring.

That's because there hasn't been an ISO released by Microsoft since Build 10074. What some are doing is a clean install of 10074 and then letting it upgrade. When it upgrades, it will skip Build 10122 and do Build 10130.

That's the only ISO that MS has released so far.. the slow ring might get an ISO for 10130 some time later on.

I see. That's what I want to do. However my build 10074 seems to be a bit problematic. It crashes the first time I try to install it and I have to switch my PC off and restart it and it then seems to pick up the install again and installs. however I opted not to set a password for my account and then when I try to log into Insider or download apps it causes problems as it says I need to log in and when I do it says this account is already on this computer but I cannot log in!

How are you trying to install, McCririck? Clean or over Win 7 or 8.xx?
