Windows 10: upgrade win 10 home local account to win 10 pro, with local account.

I would like to know what options are available for upgrading my Win 10 Home, with local account, to Win 10 Pro, also with local account,.

I'm looking for instructions that are suitable for the device remaining as a local account. Changing the device from a local account to a Microsoft Account isn't an option.


Due to internet limitations, I'd prefer instructions that allow me to do the upgrade offline, if possible.


Current Win 10 version is 1809


I haven't yet bought an upgrade key.

Local Account question

Hi,

I am in the process of upgrading from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro. And once it is upgraded, I want to get a local account, not a MS account. In reading the steps involved in this process, it says that you will come to a window where you are asked to verify your current password. But what if I don't have a password? I don't currently have a password for Win 7.

 

register PC with microsoft; use local account to log in

Just simply log in with your Microsoft Account.
Switch to Microsoft Account in Windows 10

Just go back to using a local account:
Switch to Local Account in Windows 10

Hopefully the tutorials are step by step enough.

 

Linking local account to Microsoft account on Win Pro

Hi, just installed new PC and have following issue:

- I do not see option on account tab to link my local account to Microsoft account ("sing in with Microsoft Account instead")

- As note - I can add Microsoft accounts of family members including me.

- I also do not see option on Account tab to remove my family members with their Microsoft accounts, from local PC - can just block them (but their local account stays disabled).

It is WIn Pro 10 18363 build.

Any hints,
