Upgrade Windows 11 Compatibility results are NOT correct? How can I access the upgrade?

I'm finally trying to update my laptop to Windows 11, but when it runs the compatibility test, it says my processor is not fast enough. Processor IntelR CoreTM i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB 15.9 GB usable System type 64-bit OS, x64-based processor Original Windows was installed on: Drive C 117 Available 108 GB used SSD Drive D 1.8 TB Available 175 GB Used Recovery E 17.7 GB Available 15.9 Used I hoped to install the update onto the D Drive, but I can't access the update data without getting past the compatibility screening... Help?

    :)

  2. Windows 11 upgrade compatibility.

    Hello, how are you?

My name is Paloma B., I am very happy to be able to try to help you in the best possible way.

This is an open community, whenever you need you can share the problem so that possible repairs are suggested.

Unfortunately MS released the list as official, and will not have updates to include non-compatible processors.

In addition to UEFI, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, to support Windows 11 the Processor must have a feature called VBS or Windows Memory Integrity, but those that are not on the list do not support this.

That's why MS decided not to include these processors in the list, as it can generate a lot of performance problems.

It is even possible to install Windows 11 manually, but it is not recommended as it is not worth it.

Anyway, Windows 10 will be compatible until 2025, the recommendation is to keep it, if you keep using this processor.

If for some reason you upgrade your processor to a newer and more compatible model, then yes, it is recommended that you upgrade to Windows 11.

    Upgrade to Windows 11

I want to upgrade my OS from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have run the compatibility software and got the message that says my Windows 10 software is not compatible with upgrading to Windows 11. I'm looking for a point & click application that will make my Windows 10 OS upgradable to Windows 11 or a file that will provide step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish the upgrade to Windows 11. I expect a list of files/applications that will not run in Windows 11 because my PC is not capable of running the new applications w/o hardware upgrades.

Upgrade Windows 11 Compatibility results are NOT correct? How can I access the upgrade?

Upgrades needed to be compatible for Win 11

As you know, only PCs meeting certain hardware requirements can be upgraded routinely to Win 11. Most PCs can actually run it- and people have installed Win 11 on 'incompatible' PCs- see below. There are two tools to check compatibility that can identify issues- given below. How to check if your PC will get Windows 11 update | TechRadar - try running the app listed there. Not sure if your PC is compatible with Windows 11? Here's how to check - CNET - gives another tool and a list of requirements. The two tools are conveniently listed here: I thought my computer has unsupported CPU for Windows 11 installation? - post #6 Note: which generation of CPU you have is key to whether you will be able to upgrade routinely or not. Even if you can't fully meet Win 11 hardware specs (imposed by the installer rather than the O/S itself in some respects) there are work arounds to effect Win 11 installation. Example: I thought my computer has unsupported CPU for Windows 11 installation?
