Windows 10: Upgrade

I have an Acer Aspire M3970 currently running version 10.0.16299 build 16299.


On many occassions now my PC has tried to automatically download Windows 10, version 1803 amd64 2019-03 only to stop at 83%. I have let the update run from 1hr to 48hrs to no avail. On the first reboot of the PC it tries to continue the download. On the second reboot it re-installs the previous version of Windows 10. I have used the recovery function several times in order to try and get a "clean" start but again to no avail.


What can I do to either get this update or to stop it altogether as it seems to be affect some of the games that are played on the PC?

You can try following this guide. I suggest either step 4 or step 7.

 

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

 

No more touchpad for my laptop since upgrading to Windows 10

Hi Derek,

I would suggest the following steps :

• Press Windows + X
• Click on Device Manager
• Right click on TouchPad drivers in the list.
• Choose Upgrade Drivers
• Reboot computer

Check if this helped to fix the issue.
