  2. Toshiba tablet running Windows 8.1 upgrade to windows 10

I recently bought a Toshiba tablet running Win 8.1. As soon as I got it up and running it offered to upgrade to Win 10.

I did the upgrade and now the system says that I need to purchase a product key. I never was offered the option of agreeing to

pay for the upgrade, my understanding being that it was free. Anyone out there can tell me how to go about this ? Thanks.

  3. Laptop travelling with me, PC at home on 29July

I have a laptop , a tablet and a regular PC. The tablet and laptop are with me while travelling with me in England. The laptop is running 8.1. This is how I know about the Windows 10 upgrade. My PC is at home, in Australia and is running 7. I return to
Australia on August 2. So my laptop will be ready to go with Windows 10, but my PC will still be running 7 and the free upgrade will no longer be available. Is that correct? Is this another piece of not quite joined-up thinking from Microsoft?

Upgraded (2) Laptops (W-7) To 10. Tablet Running 8.1 Never got Offer

You can create bootable media to upgrade from using the windows 10 media creation tool from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Alternatively if you are that way inclined you can decrypt the instal.esd file from C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources to an ISO from one of your previously upgraded devices and extract it to a USB drive to install from. the first option if your net is fine with the download is the easier option. but if you want to go the second way check out How To Convert Install.ESD To ISO File
