Windows 10: Upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, now trying to tell me I need a product key and to activate...

It looks like my computer has forgotten its product key? I have had this computer for 3 years, no clue where the folder is with the product key in it but would be Windows 10 anyways. I upgraded a few days ago and now it is saying "We can't activate Windows on this device right now. you can try activating later or go to the store to buy genuine Windows. Error code: 0x80004005"This is not a pirated copy, it came with the computer.

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

• Go to Start

• Select Go to Store, and check to see if a valid license is available for your device. If a license isn't available, you'll need to buy Windows from the Store.

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

 

Windows 10 product keys and activation - and the KMS angle

Changing the product key to the generic Windows 10 product key will reset activation to the standard retail channel for activation. It might just activate (if there was a previous digital license for Windows 10 for that computer established with Microsoft). Once Windows 10 is back on the retail activation channel, then more than likely changing the product key to the Windows 8 product key using the same method may work.

You need to upgrade the first time around. Once you upgrade, you can use that key for a clean installation. I've done 2 clean installations with my Windows 7 key since I upgraded to 10 the first time around.
