  1. upgraded my internet & router, wireless connection keeps DC all the time if i'm on 5Ghz band

upgraded my internet & router recently, wireless connection keeps DC all the time if i'm on 5ghz band, because it's faster, i get the full speed 100mb, if i connect to the 2.4ghz i get 45mb and don't DC at all !! fairly close to the router, if i'm connected to the 5ghz i get two stripes, if 2.4ghz 3-4 stripes

i'm using wireless pcie card: ASUS PCE AC55BT B1 AC1200

    Dual-Band Wireless Router Compatibilty

I have a Dell Inspiron 3135 upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. The radio types supported are 802.11b/g/n. Using my new ASUS dual-band 802.11ac wireless router, my boyfriend and others can connect via 5Ghz, but I can only connect via 2Ghz. Is there
a driver or adapter or anything that will allow me to access the 5Ghz band? I've written ASUS about this but they don't seem to be able to communicate in English very well.

  3. 5Ghz band not there

The 2230 is a 2.4Ghz only networking adapter

    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/centrino/centrino-wireless-n-2230-brief.html

    Multi-Stream, Single Band 802.11b/g/n 2x2 and 2.4 GHz

Delivers up to 300 Mbps speed in the 2.4 GHz band with multiple streams for enhanced speed while improving coverage and reliability.

802.11n supports 2.4 and 5Ghz. Typically for chips that support the 5Ghz band you will see 802.11abgn or 802.11ac listed as there is no marking specifically for 5Ghz N support.

    5Ghz band not there

I have a HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k025dx Sleekbook and I just bought a Netgear WNDR4500 N900 Dual Band Gigabit Wifi Router. My laptop only sees the 2.5Ghz connection, it doesn't see the 5Ghz connection. Both connections have different names and 802.11n mode
is enabled on my wireless adapter (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230).

Is there something else I need to change in my settings for the connection to be seen by my laptop? I know the 5Ghz connection is fine because my phone picks up a strong signal from it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Can't connect to 2.4ghz band, 5ghz keeps disconnecting: As the title says, whenever I try to connect to the 2.4ghz band of my Wi-Fi, Windows gives me a "Can't connect to this network" message. Normally this wouldn't be a huge issue, as the 5ghz band is generally faster anyway, but even that has been spotty. When it works, it...
