Windows 10: upgraded to win 10 cant save pdfs or print from quickbooks

every search I have done comes back to the xps document writer tried all the recommended fixes. none are working

Quickbooks 2012 pro and Windows 10: saving or emailing PDF files not working

I've got Quickbooks 2012, and used these steps successfully with Windows 8, but after upgrading to Win 10, these steps don't work for me. I see a message "Could not print to printer. Check your printer selection. Printing may have been canceled from
another program." After I close that dialog box, I see the "QuickBooks could not save your form as a PDF file."

I've tried changing the printer settings in quickbooks to point to different "printers". I can print an invoice to an .xps file successfully. But can't print a PDF.

Not sure why these steps aren't working for me this time...

 

Windows 10 & Quickbooks

I am also running Quickbooks Pro 2010. After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I am having the PDF converter problem.

I tried to run the PDF Utility. It did not fix the problem.

The Quickbooks PDF converter is listed in my printers, however when I open a form in Quickbooks and try to print or send the form I get an Activation Error "Printer not activated, error code -20", followed by two other Intuit and Quickbooks error messages.

If I do a print preview in Quickbooks and then look at the printer options, the Quickbooks PDF Converter does not show in the list. Interesting that if I open any document outside of Quickbooks and select Print, the Quickbooks PDF Converter does show in
the list.

Also, after I try to print or send the forms in Quickbooks and getting the errors, somehow the Quickbooks PDF Converter is now set at the default printer, and I have reset my default.

I really would appreciate a solution for this. I can not afford to pay $200+ dollars to upgrade Quickbooks. It seems that I may need to back out the Windows 10 upgrade?

We just upgraded our computers and now have w10. Our quickbooks pro 2012 would not print pdfs (or anything else at one point). This is happening on two new machines. The repair utility above has resolved regular printing, but we still can't print pdfs.
If we try and send a pdf in quickbooks we get:

"Your forms were not sent. Quickbooks could not create the necessary pdf files"

If we try and save the form as a pdf we get:

"Quickbooks could not save your form as a pdf file"

Please help
