  1. Upgraded to Windows 11 and it's been issue after issue with no permanent resolution

Hey there, I'm trying to see if I can try to get some assistance here as I'm at my wits end and beyond at this point. When I was on Windows 10, I rarely had an issue outside of very minor happenstances here and there, mostly related to Ram overuse that I managed to deal with. After the free upgrade to Windows 11 I've had consistent issue after issue with random issues that range from having frametime stuttering when locking to 60 fps on my second monitor and heavily degraded performance across multiple games and some websites just randomly stop working may be unrelated all the way to seeing

    :)

    Hi Arindam,

Welcome and thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

I understand the inconvenience that you are unable to change the screen resolution, we will help you with this issue.

I suggest you to update the Display Adapter Drivers

Step 1: Update the Display Adapter driver.

    • Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapter.
    • Right on the Display Adapter and click on
      Update driver software.

Refer to: How to: Install and
    Update drivers in Windows 10

Step 2: Please follow the below steps to change the resolution of the screen and check:

    • Type Change screen resolution in the Search
      box from the desktop.
    • Under Resolution search for the Recommended resolution and click on
      Apply.
    • A windows pops up saying "Keep these display settings", then select
      Keep changes.

I would like to inform that, there will be a recommended resolution for all the computers, and if you select more than the recommended resolution the screen would not support for that.

Hope this helps. Feel free to contact us for any further issues on Windows Operating System, we will be
    happy to help you.

Resolution issue in Windows 10 after upgrading

    Hi Ravi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I understand your issue and we certainly can help you

with it. We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

Ensure that you have your drivers for the motherboard graphic display installed after upgrading to Windows 10. If you have internet connection try this step.

    • Press Windows logo + X
    • Select device manager
    • Right click on the touch display driver and select properties
    • Click on the drivers tab
    • Click update driver
    • Reboot the computer.
You can also download and install the drivers from your manufactures' website and run them in compatibility mode.

Check how to run programs in compatibilty mode.

Then you can apply this method to change the screen resolution.

    Method 1

Step 1: Right-click on desktop and then click Display settings to open the same.

Step 2: On the right-side, click the option titled Advanced display settings to view your current screen resolution and option to choose a different one.

Step 3: To change the current screen resolution, click on the drop-down box located under Resolution (see picture) to view all supported resolutions, and click on one of the listed resolutions to select it, and then click
    Apply button.

Do get back to us if you have any further queries. We'll be glad to assist you.

Upgraded to Windows 11 and it's been issue after issue with no permanent resolution

    Optical Drive Issue

    Hello Anak –

Appreciate your detailed return. Your added steps really helped.

Assuming I did the steps correctly, this is where I am now.

Screenshot 12 shows my CD Disc shortcut on my desktop.
Screenshot 10 shows the CD Drive shortcut listed in the “Send to” listing.
Screenshot 11 shows the “Send to” listing after the steps were taken, but the CD drive name is not listed.

So, it appears the steps did not work for me. And, I did try the steps, “If it still won’t do ……” and still no luck.

    What do you think?

    JerryA
