Windows 10: Upgrading RAM on Asus R507MA FROM 4 - 16GB with one card

i have an Asus r507ma laptop running on windows 11. It had a 4GB RAM. There is only 1 memory slot. I put in a single 16GB/2.666MHz RAM card. When I checked the memory in the system, it only shows 8BG/1.1MHz. Why is this?

16GB RAM only 8GB usable on Windows 10 x64

have 16GB of RAM installed on my computer, but only 8GB is usable. I am running Windows 10 x64. I have tried the following steps to fix this issue, but they have not worked:

1. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version.
   
2. I have tried reseating the RAM modules.
   
3. I have tried using different RAM modules.
   
4. I have tried run-MSConfig
   

I am still not able to use all 16GB of RAM. Any suggestions?

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about upgrading RAM.

It would be best to get assistance with ASUS or a local technician with regards to upgrading RAM on your laptop. But it would be better if you will get a single 16GB RAM stick.

ASUS UX310uak RAM Upgrade

Hi,

My laptop is an ASUS UX310uak. I'm looking to upgrade the RAM so I can do some basic video processing more smoothly. It currently has 8GB ram as standard and an i5 7th gen processor. What I dont understand is whether the 8GB currently installed is internal
and I can buy another 8GB RAM to 'add on' or whether I need to buy a 16GB unit to replace the current 8GB. On the performance tab in the task manager it says that 1 of 4 slots are currently used. Any help much appreciated.
