Windows 10: Upgrading to windows 10 64 bit

Hello,
I am going to upgrade my windows 10 32 bit to 64 bit,it was orginally 64 bit but the hard drive got bad sector,it was fixed but the fixer installed 32 bit instead of 64 bit,i am extracting the files inside the windows 10 64 bit iso to my usb,i have 2 drives though,drive C: and drive E: when installing windows i know i need to format the drive where im going to install windows but do i need to format drive E: too?,i will be installing windows 64 bit on C:,Please Guide me to the windows 10 64 bit installation so i can avoid errors

Windows10 pro upgradation from Home

I think you are confusing upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit with upgrading from Home to Pro.

It's perfectly possible to upgrade Windows 10 Home 64 bit to Windows 10 Pro 64 bit...

also it can handle 64 bit,i have x86 based pc but it used to be x64 based pc before the hard drive broke,my processor is still x64 based

 

You only need to format C: drive.

Alright all the files from the windows 10 64 bit iso are copied to the USB but can this work when installing windows from USB?,i only saw people using the media creation tool to do this but i have only an iso,i dont have wifi thought i use limited mobile data,is the usb going to work when installing windows 10 64 bit????,someone reply fast please

 

wait nvm i found an app for windows called wizburn it can burn isos to USBs but i need help what is system file there are FAT32,NTFS,exFAT and FAT and theres also a volume lablel(max 11 chars) idk whats volume label and my usb has a file system of fat32 but which one should i use for windows 64 bit installation

 

Fat 32 is fine. And disconnect any and all other drives before installing Windows .

You can`t just copy the files, the stick won`t be bootable.

I recommend using a program like Rufus. Choose a MBR or GPT scheme, MBR if you are installing in Legacy mode or GPT if you installing in UEFI mode.

The partition on the USB flash drive should be FAT32, and it should be marked as active. The you just copy the files and folders from the mounted ISO file over to it. You don't need anything extra to make the flash drive from an ISO file. Open a Command Prompt and run:

diskpart
list disk
select disk # <-replace # with the actual number of the USB flash drive
clean <-this will erase the disk selected above, make sure it is the USB flash drive!
create part pri
format fs=fat32 quick
active
exit
exit

Then copy all the files and folders from the mounted ISO file over to the flash drive. You can mount the ISO file just by right clicking on it in Windows 8 or 10. In Windows 7 you need an extra program like WinCDEmu:

ok i am mounting the iso on rufues i chose mbr partion scheme for uefi because the first one wont work with fat 32,when i try ntfs it gives a error does mbr partition scheme for uefi work on my laptop?,it uses legacy though

 

Oh my gosh my bios uses/supports uefi not legacy,when i try to switch to uefi,it says no bootable device,does this mean my bios can run uefi????,here is my bios:nsydeH20 Version 05.05.39V1.23

 

I just realized that my usb does not support ntfs,i cannot burn/mount windows 10 64 bit iso,rufus saiys the iso cannot be mounted on fat 32*Sad

 

You can`t choose MBR for UEFI, did you read what I wrote ?

I have made a MBR for Legacy installer and a GPT for UEFI installer using Rufus, don`t know why you are having such trouble.

You can try Navy`s method if you feel up to it.

You only have 4GB of memory installed, so why are you installing 64 Bit ?

 

Any usb drive will sure work, unless your usb drive got problem.
