    Upgrading Windows10

My Windows10 is currently version 1607 and I would like to upgrade to version 1703 but as a complete novice and 85 years old I am concerned that if I click "Upgrade" I will be faced with a lot of technical jargon to deal with. Is the upgrading difficult or would I be able to do the job do you think?

    :)

My Nokia C3 is not supporting softwares

I have tried so many ways to download softwares, but to my efforts are all fruitless. When i go to other sites to download and install softwares, the place to download the software will not even be active and when i download from ovi store it is not supported.
What should i do to end this problem?

It's 1709 you'll get now, it was released on the 17th. October. Very similar to 1703, and seems to be relatively bug free at launch (I'm using it now).

No, it's a straightforward process. The only thing you may see is a review of your current privacy settings, but you don't have to change any of them if you don't want to.

It can take some time though, set aside at least a couple of hours and be prepared for it to take longer (sometimes much longer). A few have reported having to leave their machine running over night to complete the process, but most say it's 1-4 hours. If nothing seems to be happening just be patient, it should get there in the end.

Some experiences are reported in this thread: How long for feature update to Windows 10 version 1709 install

    Thanks Bree,
Will version 1709 accept updates for version 1703 please? As mentioned earlier I think the problem I have is because the updates I have received are for version 1703 whilst the version I have installed at the moment is version 1607

"Will version 1709 accept updates for version 1703 please?"

1709 supersedes/replaces 1703 so don't even bother with 1703 and just go to the next step.
The Repair/in place Upgrade process is the simplest upgrade process. Follow below tutorial and if you're intimidated, at all, watch the video first to see all the steps and how little you need to be involved. This process will allow you to keep your files and programs and roll back to 1607 within 10 days, if something is wrong or you're not happy.

This excellent tutorial is here (I like the Step 4 option, simplest to use for beginners: mount ISO and run setup.exe, like software media) - Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Each version has its own cumulative updates, clearly names as 'for 1607...' (or 'for 1511...' or whatever version you are on). No version can receive an update that's for a different version, windows update won't allow that.

The only update you could have possibly seen for 1607 that would say '1703' in the name would be the one that starts an automatic update to 1703. Sometimes that can have problems installing, whereas the Update Assistant may not. You don't have to have 1703, you can update straight to 1709 and miss out 1703.
