Windows 10: Uploading files from external drive to OneDrive

I have about 200 GB of files on an external hard drive I want to upload to Onedrive. I can't just copy them to my OneDrive folder as I don't have the room on my main hard drive. Ideally I don't want to do it through a browser as when files are uploaded in such large batches through a browser it tends to be unreliable, and if it gets stuck a time is wasted and b I have to go through every file on OneDrive to make sure it uploaded properly.


Is there any way I can sync the files through the OneDrive app on my PC without having the space to copy them to my main hard drive? Not being able to do this seems to partially defeats the purpose of using cloud storage.


If not, any alternative suggestions would be welcome.

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
