Windows 10: URGENT(?): Black screen after logging in + Audio issues

Hello, i don't know much about computers at all so stick with me here.

My PC has been working like a dream since i got it a few months ago, but in the last few hours I've been having some serious trouble. It all started when i started using my PC after leaving it on during the night to install software. I plugged my headphones in, Windows recognized them like normal, but when i tried playing some audio nothing happened. I unplugged my headphones to see if my monitors speakers worked, and they were fine.

I decided to get the latest Windows update that i had been hesitating to install to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. Instead, i entered my pin at the lock screen like usual, it took around a minute to log me in, which i thought was unusual as it normally only takes a few seconds.

After i got logged in, it displayed a black screen. I could move my cursor, but nothing else worked. This is when i started to get worried. after waiting for ~10 minutes my screen went back to normal. I plugged my headphones in to see if they worked, and they still didn't. Tried my speakers, now they don't either.

I tried restarting my PC several times, but nothing seems to work. I will note that every time i restart it, the black screen seems to take longer. The first time was ~10 minutes, the last one i did took around an hour.

I even tried scanning with Malwarebytes, and nothing was detected. I also want to note that my headphones work on other devices, just not the PC.

Sorry for the big, long-winded post but i wanted to capture as many details as i could. Please respond soon, because my PC is almost unusable in this state. Thank you in advance.



(TLDR; Neither headphones nor speakers are working on the pc and after logging into my pc it displays a black screen for a while)

Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad

So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?

Laptop or Desktop (Very important) Windows 10 build 14.586 has a very annoying BUG: That causes Black Screen after login:
To date there is no cure until Microsoft send Update to fix the problem: OK here goes: When you Login and the Screen Goes Black ==>
Go to your Function Keys for Screen Brightness Chose to Lighten the Screen (This will make the screen Bright) so that you can view it.
The BUG is that they reversed (via Software) what the Brightness button does -- So it is currently reversed -- "Lighten" makes it Dark -- "Darken" makes it Bright ==> Go figure Microsoft screw the pooch on this one. . . .

This is for LAPTOP -- I have never seen this on Desktops but they are fixed rather than adjustable
