Windows 10: [URGENT] Drive has no Owners. Can not grant owner or permission or anything

One of my drives has suddenly lost ownership. I can not access the drive.G: Drive is Inaccessible.General Property view of the drive shows nothing.Properties > Security > Advanced shows this.On Either clicking continue or change it shows this.It seems that the Drive has for some reason lost any/all User privileges and ownership.On trying both commands in CMD opened as administratoricacls &takeownI get the same error.On running get-acl in powershell I get this.Please help.Going Crazy.C: is an SSD with the OS installed.D: F: G: are the same disk of 2TB.D: is 500GBG:: is 500GBF: is ever

Unknown User as Owner

Hi Bree, thanks for stepping up to address this issue.
As far as I know my External Drive has only been used on my PC.

I could try to implement your suggestion and take Ownership of those Folders.
The "Take Ownership" link is present in my right click menu, but I'm currently logged in with my Microsoft account, so perhaps it would be better if I went Properties --> Security --> Advanced & set the Owner to Administrators, no?!

Although my mind is bugged with a new question now.
If I change the Owner & later on I have to restore a backup (Acronis on a CD) won't I encounter problems then?

 

Permission

I am using windows 10. Mine is the only user account. Suddenly today, I am unable to open move or delete files even though I am listed as the owner. I have to right click on the file, and select PROPERTIES, SECURITY, ADVANCED, ADD, and grant myself permission.
Odd thing is, only the owner of the file can grant permission to a user. So, windows recognizes me as the owner when I am granting permission, but I can't open, move, or delete said file until I grant myself permission.

Grant access for folders in Windows 10

Thanks for your help. I have followed your instructions, but after step 2 what comes up is not the same.

The "Owner" in the list is now called "Creator Owner"

When I highlight "Creator Owner" and click on "Advanced" a list of "permission entries" appears. If I double click on "Creator owner" a list of "basic permissions" appears with no opportunity to click on an "edit" tab or box.

I notice that the permissions shown for "Creator Owner" are only "Special Permissions" which do not include Full control.

I now wonder if your instructions apply to a previous version of Windows. My version is Windows 10 Home.

Please advise.
