Windows 10: Urgent help needed. folder sharing not working after update. now can't work!

Hi,


My computer did an automatic update to ver 1803 and folder sharing stopped. I uninstalled the last update and it worked again, but windows updated again last night and I can't turn off the update and sharing is broken again.


All sharing is turned on in the sharing settings in network sharing centre.

All firewalls are turned off

have right clicked on folder> properties>sharing>advanced and turned share on


Been at this all day and just can't get it to work again. Why oh why did they change this? lost a days work so far.


any suggestions what to try next or how to resolve this problem?

Windows 10 shared folders not working

I suggest you to run the shared folders troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the Shared Folders troubleshooter.

Sharing folders over network - access denied

Hello,

To troubleshoot your concern with sharing files over the network using your Windows 10 device, we suggest that you run the Shared folders troubleshooter and check if it helps. Kindly refer to the steps below:

• Type in Troubleshooting in the search box and press
  Enter.
• Click View all.
• Click Shared Folders.
• Click Next and follow on-screen instructions.

Okay I don't see any known troublemakers in the shell extensions shown in explorer tab.





Would suggest checking for updates for the softwares listed and installing updates if available.
