Our System is Server 2016Getting this error: The protocol host process 13456 did not respond and is being forcibly terminated {filter host process 4296}. vmware 2019 server is installed on 2016 server. After this error, users connected to the 2019 server with a remote connection are disconnected. Meanwhile, the 2016 server is responding to the ping, but the 2019 server is not responding to the ping. After about 15 minutes everything is back to normal. This usually happens at the same time every day. but I can't see any special application running at those hours.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Professional Indexing - Gather process termination

Windows 10 indexing is abnormally slow repeatedly pausing. Have performed various checks and tasks. Problem continues.

In Windows event viewer - application - there are repeated yellow triangle warnings.

For many the Source is "search" and the Task Category is "Gatherer".

Some state Filter host process did not respond and is forcibly terminated. Others state protocol host process did not respond and is forcibly terminated.

What does this mean and if it is repeatedly pausing indexing what is the fix?

    Thank you.

  3. Windows 10 Professional Indexing - Gather process termination

    Hi Dyari,

I ran that command you suggested - copied in below. It appeared to run and also responded with a "very long" red script that included comments some actions could not be executed because there is a later version installed. I could not interpret those messages. Yet....the Indexer seems to be running faster. It still will be a long process but it is moving faster.

Right-click on Windows PowerShell and select "Run as administrator" > Type the following command and press Enter:

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

The windows Event Viewer log continues to show repeated yellow triangle warnings.

Thee Source is "search" and the Task Category is "Gatherer".

Some state Filter host process did not respond and is being forcibly terminated. Others state protocol host process did not respond and is being forcibly terminated.

Could you offer any more insight?

    Thank you.

Windows 10 Start Menu Intermittent Crashes ESENT 454 412

These errors alternate, and I don't know how to fix them.

SFC /SCANNOW does not find any corrupted files.

And Windows is completely up to date.

The following logs are from event viewer in the following format:

    Event ID: Event text

    Help would be appreciated.
